BOTOX® is an injectable product that is FDA approved to reduce lines and wrinkles in the face. BOTOX®, which is a purified protein has been used and trusted in the medical community for many years and in many different capacities. This protein blocks nerve stimulus from the brain to the affected muscles. Outside of the aesthetic world, BOTOX® is used to treat migraine headaches, eyelid spasms, and symptoms of an overactive bladder.
BOTOX® prevents you from making expressions that cause these wrinkles to occur in the first place. When injected by a trained medical professional, BOTOX® smooths away wrinkles without interfering with your ability to make facial expressions. This injectable treatment has been used successfully for years to treat some of the common age-related concerns of men and women.
After your treatment, you may resume your daily activities as soon as you like. You may experience some minor injection site reactions such as bruising, bleeding, tenderness, or itching. These are all normal and will resolve in no more than a day or so.
Just so you know, it takes some time for BOTOX® results to develop-typically a week. These results can last between three and six months depending on each unique individual.
A chemical peel is a cosmetic procedure that rejuvenates and brightens the skin, by removing dead skin cells from the surface and exposing new skin cells below. This will leave your skin smoother, tighter and more vibrant.
Chemical peels can be used to treat a range of skin concerns including fine lines, wrinkles, break outs, uneven tones, irregular texture, and pigmentation. Peels are primarily used as an anti-aging treatment to promote brighter, smoother, and more refined complexion.
This depends on the type of peel. There are three levels of peels: superficial, medium and deep. They vary based on the level of penetration.
- Superficial peels remove the outermost layer of the skin, and require no real downtime. They are refreshing and are generally not painful, but clients may feel some tingling during the procedure. These peels are used typically for fine lines, wrinkles, and to even out skin tones.
- Medium peels use stronger solutions penetrating further into the skin. This type of peel is usually good for fine lines, acne, and sun damage. Medium grade peels are generally done using a TCA solution.
- Deep peels are aggressive and penetrate down to the deeper parts of the dermal layer. Deep peels provide dramatic skin rejuvenation, but can take 2-4 weeks to recover from and require a licensed doctor to perform them.
A series of 3-4 peel treatments spaced 4 weeks apart is optimal.
Dermal fillers are gel-like substances that are injected beneath the skin to restore volume, smooth lines, or enhance facial contours. Dermal fillers are FDA approved and sold only to licensed physicians. There are two main filler types: Hyaluronic Acid and Calcium Hydroxylapatite (CaHA).
Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a naturally occurring substance that is already found in your skin. It’s what makes your skin plump and hydrated. HA fillers are temporary, lasting 6 to 12 months or longer before the body gradually and naturally absorbs the particles.
Calcium Hydroxylapatite is also a naturally occurring substance, found primarily in our bones. This filler is typically thicker than the hyaluronic acid filler and typically lasts longer, about 12 months or longer. This filler is reported to help stimulate natural collagen production and used for deep lines and wrinkles.
Injectable dermal fillers are excellent at filling in wrinkles. Here are a few common issues dermal fillers can help address:
- Smooth out lines around nose and mouth
- Restore volume to sunken cheeks
- Diminish vertical lip lines
- Plump and enhance lips
- Smooth out chin creases
- Improve symmetry among facial features
Depending on the product and the areas treated, you should be able to notice results immediately after receiving filler injections. Some patients experience mild bruising and swelling, but these are temporary and should subside over the days following treatment. You will be able to go back to your normal activities right after treatment, but often your provider will want you to take the day off from exercise or other strenuous activity.
Dermaplaning is a mechanical exfoliation treatment using a gentle blade, much like a butter knife to physically remove layers of rough and dull skin cells. In the process, fine facial hair known as vellous hair is removed as well. Although you don’t hear about this treatment often, it has been done by dermatologists and plastic surgeons for over 40 years.
Dermaplaning has many benefits:
- It manually exfoliates away dead skin cells.
- It intensifies your results prior to a chemical peel, HydraFacial, or IPL.
- It removes unwanted facial hair without the pain and irritation of waxing or depilatories.
There is no downtime with Dermaplaning as no chemicals are used. It is gentle and effective at revealing smoother, brighter skin with no side effects.
HydraFacial is the only hydradermabrasion procedure that combines cleansing, extraction, and hydration simultaneously, resulting in clearer, more beautiful skin. There are additional add-on features such as specialized serums and boosters along with red and blue LED treatments for rejuvenation and acne respectively.
The treatments are soothing, moisturizing, non-invasive, and generally non-irritating. HydraFacial treatments vary according to individual skin needs and conditions. There are specialized treatments for acne, skin rejuvenation, sensitive skin conditions, and dryness.
There is no downtime. After treatment, you may experience temporary tightness, irritation, or redness. These are all normal reactions that typically resolve within 72 hours depending on skin sensitivity.
At Beverly Aesthetics we use the Candela Gentle Max Laser for laser hair removal treatments. This system is FDA-approved for permanent hair reduction for all skin types. The system is safe for varying skin tones, and both men and women can benefit from the treatment.
The Candela Gentle Max Laser uses a concentrated beam of light to remove unwanted hair. This light is absorbed by the pigment in the hair. This light energy is converted to heat, which damages the hair follicles that produce the hair. This damage inhibits or delays future hair growth.
Laser hair removal is used to reduce unwanted hair. Common treatment areas include:
- Bikini area
- Face and upper lip
- Chin and sideburns
After receiving a series of treatments, most clients report a significant reduction of the amount of hair. The hair that does grow back tends to be sparse and light in color.
There is no downtime. After the treatment there may be temporary discomfort, redness and possible swelling. Any signs and symptoms typically disappear within several hours.
Microneedling is a new and innovative treatment that offers a safe alternative to common skin resurfacing tools and has no downtime!
During the treatment, the cordless, automated microneedling device composed of medical grade stainless steel needles used to create controlled micro-injuries to the skin, helping it produce collagen and elastin. It also creates micro-channels that allows skin products to be absorbed more readily.
Some of the benefits are:
- Wrinkle reduction
- Texture and tone improvements
- Tighter, younger-looking skin
- Acne scar and traumatic scar improvement
New collagen and elastin production significantly improves the look and texture of the skin. Visible changes in the skin can develop within a few days or several weeks after the treatment. Results continue as the collagen production continues over time.
Most people will experience no downtime and resume their normal routines after their microneedling treatment. Skin may be pink 1-3 days after treatment and some patients experience skin dryness and tightness. This should resolve within 72 hours.
Spider veins are small, damaged veins that can appear on the surface of the legs or face. They are usually not painful or harmful, but some people may with to treat them for cosmetic reasons.
Spider veins can be blue, purple, or red and may appear in the form of thin lines, webs, or branches. People sometimes also refer to them as thread veins.
A skincare professional will use a laser to treat spider veins that are smaller than 3 millimeters and close to the surface of the skin. The laser is a strong, focused beam of light that causes the spider vein to clot and dry up.
Laser treatments are less invasive than other treatments because there is no injection or incision.
The recovery period for this treatment is very short and will not inhibit your day-to-day activities in any way. Some irritation and redness may occur after your procedure. It is important, given that your skin is healing, that you limit sun exposure and protect the treated area.

Beverly Aesthetics is owned and operated by Carolyn Bunch, ME, and Randel Bunch, MD. With our experience as a licensed master aesthetician and board-certified physician, we decided to create a medical spa in our hometown of Othello, Washington.
We named the medical spa after Carolyn’s late mother, Beverly Johnson, who had a huge impact on Carolyn’s interest and passion for skin health. She was a beautiful, creative, and intelligent woman. We wish she were alive to see our tribute to her, but we know she’s watching from heaven.
